Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
The Winnipeg Football Club will once again be hosting some of the premier events at this year's Grey Cup in Toronto.
Fans attending the 100th Grey Cup are invited to join the Winnipeg Football Club for Touchdown Manitoba, the biggest Manitoba Social of Grey Cup week - this year expanding to two days at the Metro Toronto Convention Center 7th floor from 1-6pm on both Friday and Saturday. Touchdown Manitoba has been sold out for weeks, however a limited amount of tickets will be available for sale starting at 11am on Friday at the door for both days.
Back for its second year, the only CFL team to have its own Pub act as their home - The Blue & Gold House at the Elephant & Castle on King Street will offer faithful of the Blue & Gold a place to rest their hat while enjoying the confines of a place to call their own. Entry fee is $5 and $10 if you're wearing green! The bar will offer drink specials and there will be appearances by Blue Bomber Alumni and current players throughout the event.
For those not traveling to Toronto for the Grey Cup, Blue Bomber fans are encouraged to watch the 100th Grey Cup at Canad Inns Transcona, 826 Regent Avenue for the Blue Bomber Alumni Grey Cup Bud Spud & Steak from 3pm - 12am in support of Neville Scarlett. Tickets are $20 and all proceeds go towards Scarlett who is suffering from Cardiomyopathy. An avid sports fan, huge Blue Bomber & Bison supporter and a high school gym teacher for over 15 years, funds are needed to help Scarlett and his family in the mounting costs of treatment and travel to and from Edmonton to seek specialized testing and treatments.
