Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have extended the contract of veteran receiver Terrence Edwards, the team announced today.
"Terrence is a valuable piece of our offence and has shown no signs of slowing down over the past few seasons," said Vice-President and General Manager Joe Mack. "Not only is he still able to produce big numbers on the field but his leadership in the locker room is immeasurable and he has been a great tutor for our young receivers."
Edwards (6-1, 179, Georgia, DOB: April 20, 1979 in Tennville, Georgia) recorded his third straight 1,000 yard season in 2012 - and fifth of his career - hauling in 70 passes for 1,049 yards and four touchdowns. Entering his ninth year in the CFL and seventh with the Blue Bombers, Edwards currently sits in fourth place on the team's all-time receiving yardage with 6,651 yards. He was twice named a CFL All-Star (2010, 2007) and added a Divisional All-Star selection to his resume in 2011.
"This organization has always been good to me and my family and I want nothing more than to be able to help this team win a championship," said Edwards. "I fully believe in the direction this team is going in and I look forward to returning to the locker room and playing in front of our fans at Investors Group Field this upcoming season."
