WINNIPEG, MB. - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has extended the contract of pending free agent defensive back Mercy Maston.
Maston (5'11, 202, Boise State, November 10, 1992, Bakersfield, CA) signed with Winnipeg as a free agent in August, playing in three regular season games and all three postseason games. In the 2019 playoffs, Maston registered 13 defensive tackles, one interception and one sack.
He played two seasons (2017-2018) for the Edmonton Eskimos, recording 57 tackles, eight special teams stops and two interceptions in 19 games. The Eskimos released him on January 4, 2019 to pursue the NFL opportunity with the Philadelphia Eagles. He appeared in 25 games with five starts, recording 71 tackles and one interception for Boise State.
