
Blue Bombers Add Two To Roster

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added non-import receiver Chris Ioannides and import linebacker Courtney Smith to the roster.
Ioannides (6-4, 228, Queen's, DOB: February 7, 1986) had his best season as a member of the Gaels in 2009 recording 46 receptions for 501 yards and four touchdowns. In the playoffs, Ioannides helped his team capture the Vanier Cup by catching 18 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns.
Smith (6-0, 225, Texas State, DOB: October 26, 1984, in Millen, Georgia) played in four games in 2009 with the B.C. Lions, tallying five special teams tackles. Smith appeared in 40 games over his four season career at Texas State, recording 162 total tackles. In his senior season, Smith finished with 117 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions and a fumble recovery - leading the Texas State defence in 2008.
The Blue Bombers have also released non-import receiver Josh Svec and non-import offensive lineman Mike Morris.
