
Blue Bombers Add Five to Practice Roster

WINNIPEG, MB - October 2, 2013 - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added import offensive lineman Shea Allard, import wide receiver Jheranie Boyd, import linebacker Taylor Reed, import defensive back Semaj Moody and import defensive end Jake Killeen to the practice roster.
Allard (6-5, 310, Delaware, DOB: August 27, 1989 in Colorado Springs, CO) entered the NFL in May of 2012 as a free agent with the Green Bay Packers, before being waived at the end of August 2012. Allard was re-signed by Green Bay in December 2012 and moved onto the Practice Squad. Was eventually released in January 2013. Allard played all four years of College football at the University of Delaware and was a three-year starter (33 starts). Named First Team All-Colonial Athletic Conference as a senior.
Boyd (6-2, 200, North Carolina, DOB: November 16, 1989 in Bellville, CO) entered the NFL in May 2013 as a free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before being waived in June 2013. He was later signed by Cincinnati but released prior to the 2013 NFL season. Boyd spent all four years of College football at the University of North Carolina beginning as a true freshman. Made his first start in 2010. Over four seasons he caught 44 passes for 860 yards and 13 touchdowns. Also rushed for 240 yards and another TD.
Reed (6-0, 235, Southern Methodist University, DOB: August 7, 1991 in Beaumont, TX) entered the NFL in May of 2013 as a free agent linebacker with the Dallas Cowboys, before being waived in August 2013 at the close of Training Camp. He was later worked out by the New England Patriots but not signed prior to the 2013 NFL season. Reed spent all four years of College football at SMU beginning as a true freshman and was named to the All-Conference USA Freshman team. Made Honourable Mention All-Conference USA as a sophomore and made 20 tackles in a single game versus Navy. Made 12 starts as a junior with a team-leading 101 tackles. Reed added 6.5 sacks and 97 tackles in his senior season at SMU.
Moody (5-9, 193, South Carolina State, DOB: July 1, 1988 in Bamberg, SC) went undrafted in 2012 after the 2011 NCAA season. A free agent defensive back, Moody has experience as a wide receiver as well and made his pro debut in the Arena Football League for Chicago Rush. He led the Rush in tackles with 86.5 in 18 games along with 3 interceptions. In 2013, Moody signed with Kansas City of the NFL in August but was released after Training Camp. Spent four seasons at South Carolina State starting in his final two years.
Killeen (6-3, 265, Charleston Southern, DOB: February 15, 1986 in Newark, NJ) went undrafted in 2009 Made his pro debut in the IFL in 2010 and played for the Green Bay Blizzard, West Michigan Thunderhawks and Tri-Cities Fever. Killeen led the Fever in sacks with 10.5 in 2012. Also played in the AFL with San Antonio and Spokane Shock. Entered the NFL in January 2013 with Indianapolis but was waived in May 2013. Played in 22 games over two seasons with Charleston Southern, totaling 81 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 11 sacks... Earned All-Conference honors as a junior in 2007. He began collegiate career at Saddleback Junior College before transferring to Nevada-Reno for a season and finishing his career at Charleston Southern.
The Blue Bombers have also released non-import kicker Brody McKnight.
