Gibson's Finest CFL Players of the Month Named

TORONTO - Zach Collaros, Adam Bighill, Rene Paredes and Jon Cornish were named the Gibson's Finest CFL Players of the Month for September, the Canadian Football League announced today.
The monthly award includes all games played from Week 11 to Week 14.
The four players were chosen by a panel of judges that includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.
Gibson's Finest CFL Offensive Player of the Month
Zach Collaros QB - Toronto Argonauts
Toronto Argonauts quarterback Zach Collaros was named the Offensive Player of the Month for September.
In four games, Collaros recorded 1,043 passing yards on 90-of-140 attempts (64.3%) with eight touchdowns and three interceptions. His best performance was in Week 12 where he was named Offensive Player of the Week, after he passed for 330 yards and threw four touchdowns in Toronto's win over Calgary.
The 25-year-old Steubenville, OH native helped lead the Argonauts to a perfect 4-0 record in September, as they became the first team in CFL history to win four games in a row and have them all be away from home.
Collaros has started 6 games in his second CFL season, playing to a 5-1 record.
The former Cincinnati Bearcat standout has passed for 1,974 yards and has 13 touchdowns, completing 66.4% of his passes in the process.
Gibson's Finest CFL Defensive Player of the Month
Adam Bighill LB - BC Lions
BC Lions linebacker Adam Bighill was named the Defensive Player of the Month for September. Bighill had 24 tackles, five special team tackles, two sacks, an interception, two forced fumbles and a touchdown to help the Lions clinch a playoff spot and move ahead of Saskatchewan in the West Division standings.
Bighill was recognized as Defensive Player of the Week twice during. His best performance came in Week 14, as he recorded 10 tackles, a sack, two forced fumbles, while returning a fumble 30 yards for a touchdown.
Bighill is fifth in the league in tackles with 67 and is tied for second on the Lions with five sacks on the season.
Gibson's Finest CFL Special Teams Player of the Month
Rene Paredes K - Calgary Stampeders
Calgary Stampeders kicker Rene Paredes was named the Special Teams Player of the Month for September. Paredes went 12-for-13 on field goal attempts between Week 11 to 14, with his best game coming in Week 11. In a game versus Edmonton, Paredes was a perfect 5-for-5 on field goals, including a 50-yard kick in Calgary's win over Edmonton.
Paredes, a product of Concordia, leads the league in kicking points with 152 and is 38-of-40 (95%) on field goals this season.
This is Paredes' second Special Teams Player of the Month this season, with his first coming in the month of July.
Gibson's Finest CFL Canadian Player of the Month
Jon Cornish RB - Calgary Stampeders
Calgary Stampeders running back Jon Cornish was named the Canadian Player of the Month for September. The New Westminster, BC native rushed for 398 yards on 58 carries and collected 85 yards and a touchdown on 13 receptions from Weeks 11 to 14, as Calgary went 3-1 during that time period.
Cornish's best performance came in Week 11 where he was named Canadian Player of the Week after rushing for 131 yards on 14 carries (9.4 avg) and had six receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown in Calgary's win over provincial rival Edmonton.
Cornish, the single season rushing leader at Kansas University, is in a tight race for the CFL rushing title between Saskatchewan's Kory Sheets. Cornish has rushed for 1,207 this season and trails Sheets by only 15-yards.
This is Cornish's second Canadian of the Month this season, with his first coming in the month of July.
