Blue Anchors Fall to Duluth 5-4

Alexandria Blue Anchors News Release


The Alexandria Blue Anchors held momentum for most of the night Tuesday at Wade Stadium in Duluth. However, the Huskies scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth to steal the victory, 5-4 over the Blue Anchors in front of a crowd of 604 fans in Duluth.

The Blue Anchors started the game well, picking up two runs in the first inning. Alexandria also tacked on single runs in the fifth and seventh innings.

Tim Cusick (Dakota Wesleyan) had a solid game for the Blue Anchors, going 3 for 4 with an RBI. Austin Listi (Dallas Baptist) also had a great game offensively for Alexandria, going 2 for 5, and driving in three runs. Andrew Sohn (Western Michigan) stole his eighth base of the season as well for the Blue Anchors.

Cameron Mingo (Princeton) had a quality start for Alexandria, throwing 6.1 innings, while giving up two runs and striking out five Huskies.

Taylor Simpson (South Georgia College, 0-1) took the loss for the Blue Anchors. Conor Lourey took the win for Duluth.

The Blue Anchors are back at the Shipyard Wednesday to continue the three-game set with the Huskies. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 7:05pm.
