Lexington County Blowfish News Release
Lexington County, SC - Paced by Madison Stokes' (University of South Carolina) two triples, the Lexington County Blowfish defeated the Forest City Owls 6-2 on Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd of 2,573 at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.

The Blowfish would trade strikes with the Owls in the first and second innings. J.D. Crowe (Francis Marion University) led off the third inning with a single. Stokes slipped a triple down the left field line to score Crowe, and take the lead.
The Blowfish would not relinquish that lead. In fact, they would keep packing on. Stokes would smash a triple to the right field corner in the fifth inning, and score on an RBI double by Howard Joe (Mercer University).
The sixth inning would see the Blowfish score two more. Connor Owings (Coastal Carolina) doubled, and Danny Edgeworth (Mercer University) picked up his first RBI as a member of the Blowfish with a double.
Edgeworth would subsequently trot home on an RBI single from Domineke Albert (Bryan College). In total, the Blowfish would tally 11 hits.
Pitching was also ace on the night, as Robbie Baker (Richmond), who picked up his first win, would pitch five strong innings, striking out five batters. Erik Davis (USC-Aiken) and Trevor Bradley (USC-Aiken) would continue the strikeout parade in relief, punching out seven more.
Bradley struck out Zack Canada to end the ballgame, and end a streak of 11 games in 11 nights on a winning note.
Forest City had a bevy of opportunities. They loaded the bases in the second inning with nobody out, and got just one run home on a sacrifice fly by Max Miller. They capitalized in the third inning with a run scored, but they stranded runners with regularity. On the night, the Owls stranded 12 total.
The Blowfish have the day off on Sunday, but return to action at Lexington County Baseball Stadium on Monday night, as the Petersburg Generals come to town for a 7:05 p.m. start. Secure your spot now by calling the box office at 803-254-FISH, online at blowfishbaseball.com, and at Blowfish on Main (101 East Main Street, Lexington, SC).
