Blowfish Take It to HiToms, 8-1

The HiToms scored an early run in the first inning from Cameron Cecil (Delaware State), though this would be the only run allowed by Blowfish pitchers all night.

The starter for the Blowfish tonight was right hander Josh Knab (South Carolina), who threw four strong innings giving up one run off of three hits, one walk, and five strike outs. Though Cody Alling (TCC), would come on in relief in the fifth for an inning of work, giving up one hit, no runs, no walks, and one strike out to pick up his second win of the season (2-1).

The Blowfish bats came alive in the first inning in Saturdays game as David Houser (Tennessee), drove in three runs on a single to left, off of the HiToms starter Austin Blunt (Ole Miss). Houser went (3-4) on the night.

Blunt was drilled as he gave up five runs, four earned, off of four hits, issuing three walks, and no strike outs. This was Blunt's first appearance of the season and will pick up his first loss, making him (0-1).

By the end of the game the Blowfish scored eight runs off of nine hits and had no defensive errors.

Saturday night the Columbia Blowfish recognized the celebration of the US Army's birthday, with the attendance of 1,500 basic training soldiers from Fort Jackson. The night was capped off with an incredible fireworks display.

The Columbia Blowfish will be back in action at home Tuesday night, June 11th, facing the Florence Red Wolves, with first pitch set for 7:05pm. Gates open at 6pm, and it is "Guaranteed Win Night!" Blowfish win or you receive a free ticket to the next home game!
