Lexington County, S.C. (July 25, 2015) -- The Blowfish ended a week against the top teams in the West Division by winning three games in a row, and four of the last five, as they routed the Florence RedWolves 16-6 on Saturday night at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.

The Blowfish mashed a season-high 21 hits in the win, and never looked back after scoring five runs in the second inning. Austin Garcia (Bethune-Cookman) also notched his second six-RBI night of the season, capping his night with a grand slam home run in the third inning.

The Blowfish loaded the bases in the inning off of singles by Tyler Lancaster (Spartanburg Methodist), Connor Owings (Coastal Carolina) and Danny Edgeworth (Mercer University) before Garcia unloaded a fastball onto Grow Financial Home Run Hill to extend the lead to 9-2 at that point.

Garcia would also hit an RBI double in the second inning, and a solo shot in the fifth inning to end his dynamite day at the plate.

Trevor Bradley (USC-Aiken) also had a day at the plate for himself, going 3-for-5, blasting a pair of home runs.

The Blowfish would get the party started on an Owings two-run home run to right field. Six of the 21 hits on the night occurred in that second frame alone.

After a short start on July 18 in Forest City, Charlie Barnes (Clemson) righted the ship with one of his best outings of the year. He would earn his third win of the season, tossing six innings of three-run ball--another quality start.

He commanded the strike zone all night. In his only problem inning, he forced a textbook 4-6-3 double play on Chris Adams. Barnes navigated three separate 1-2-3 innings on the night. Michael Gilroy (Winthrop) and Matt Phillips (Georgia Tech) provided solid relief pitching after Barnes departed.

Among the season-high 21 hits, the Blowfish received multi-hit efforts from Gene Cone (University of South Carolina), Bradley, J.D. Crowe (Francis Marion), Lancaster, Owings and Garcia. 15 of the 16 RBIs on the night were generated by those six players. Dalton Duty (University of Central Florida) was responsible for the last one.

Cone's seventh-inning single broke the previous hit record (17) set twice against Fayetteville.

Florence knocked in three late runs in the eighth inning, but they would prove without a consequence, as Avery Greer (University of North Georgia) struck out two batters during the ninth inning, including Ben Holland, to end the game. That win, coupled with a High Point-Thomasville loss, kept the Blowfish in a playoff spot with ten games to go.

The Blowfish return to action at Lexington County Baseball Stadium on Sunday when they host the Martinsville Mustangs at 6:05 p.m. "Ice Cream Sunday" will allow the first 500 kids to receive a complimentary ice cream sundae.
