Lexington County Blowfish News Release

Forest City, N.C. (July 1, 2015) -- A downpour after the first inning of play forced Wednesday's game between the Lexington County Blowfish and Forest City Owls to be suspended. A doubleheader has been scheduled for July 18.

Future Blowfish players are ready for Thursday night baseball at The Lex!

The game will resume in the top of the second inning, and be followed by a seven-inning second game.

Robbie Baker (Richmond) evaded trouble in the first inning, allowing singles to Max Miller and Ryan Perkins. He struck out Weston Jackson, and forced a double play. Spencer Henderson ripped a line shot to the right side, where Jared Williams (University of South Carolina) went full extension forward to record the first out, and stepped on the bag at second to record a double play.

Lexington County went down in order in the top of the first inning.

The Blowfish will return home Thursday to take on the Owls at Lexington County Baseball Stadium, starting a three-game homestand.

Fans can experience the sights and sounds of Independence Fireworks on Friday, July 3 as the Blowfish will take on the USC Alumni team in a special exhibition game for the rights to the coveted GameFish Cup, and on Saturday, July 4 when the Blowfish host Florence.
