Lexington County, S.C. (June 30, 2015) -- The Blowfish rallied down four runs to take a one-run lead, but the West Division-champion Gastonia Grizzlies knocked home the game-winning run in the top of the 13th inning, taking Tuesday's game by a final score of 7-6 at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.

Fans at the stadium were treated to Dog Day Tuesdays presented by MetLife, where they could bring their dogs, on a leash, to the game to enjoy a night out with the family.

Both the Grizzlies and the Forest City Owls from the night prior put together similar-looking first innings. The Blowfish found themselves down 4-0 in the early part of this game. However, unlike the night prior, the home team responded quickly.

RBI knocks from Jared Williams (University of South Carolina), Madison Stokes (University of South Carolina) and a sacrifice fly from Connor Owings (Coastal Carolina) cut the deficit to 4-3.

Gastonia's Mike McClellan smashed a solo shot to pad the lead to 5-3, but that was quickly extinguished. Tyler Lancaster (Spartanburg Methodist) capitalized on a two-on, two-out opportunity with a two-run single to tie the game at 5-5. Williams would later score on a wild pitch an inning later to take a 6-5 lead.

The Grizzlies responded in kind in the seventh inning to tie the game. Cue the marathon.

Trevor Bradley (USC-Aiken) took over on the mound in the seventh inning of action. His tenure ended in the 12th inning. That span of time saw him take over the league lead in strikeouts. Every time he put a leadoff batter on board, specifically in extra innings, he erased the threats via a strikeout or two.

Erik Davis (USC-Aiken) put forth a sparkling effort of his own, sitting down the first seven batters he faced in a row.

The Blowfish had a prime scoring opportunity in the 10th inning, placing runners on second and third with one out. However, the threat ended with nary a run to show for it. They would not get another opportunity in the extra sessions.

A sacrifice fly in the top of the 13th inning proved to be the difference.
