Lexington County, S.C. (June 20, 2015) - Blowfish bats struck early, and struck often in a 9-3 win over the High Point-Thomasville HiToms in front of a sold-out crowd of 2,573 at Lexington County Baseball Stadium on Saturday night.

The suddenly scorching-hot offense snapped 13 hits against a solid HiToms pitching staff. The Blowfish have scored 43 runs in the past five games, averaging just under nine runs per game.

Tyler Lancaster (Spartanburg Methodist) fell a triple shy of the cycle. He slapped a two-run single in the second inning to score Connor Owings (Coastal Carolina) and Trevor Bradley (USC-Aiken).

His solo home run in the fourth inning would prove to be his third and final RBI. Lancaster also slugged a double in the sixth inning, later scoring on an RBI single from Sly Edwards (Charleston Southern).

Robbie Baker (Richmond) pitched a six-inning gem for Lexington County. He allowed one run on one hit, a ground rule double, in the second inning. Baker struck out six batters, and equally distributed ground ball and fly ball outs.

The Blowfish put the game away in the sixth inning with a four-run frame. A two out rally started with a Lancaster double. Edwards brought him in with a single. Jared Williams (University of South Carolina) would subsequently single and move around the basepath due to a bevy of wild pitches. An RBI single by Madison Stokes (University of South Carolina), combined with the wild pitches, would score three more runs, extending the lead to 9-1.

The HiToms could not get any consistency offensively all night long. Baker, who earned his second win of the season, retired 11 batters in a row between the third and sixth innings. Jae Skoda (University of New Orleans) ran into some trouble in the seventh inning, but shut the door in the eighth and ninth to preserve the winning margin.

The Blowfish will head on the road to complete a doubleheader with the division-leading Florence RedWolves starting at 6:00 p.m. Catch all of the action on Z93.1 FM The Lake, and on the Blowfish Baseball mobile app starting at 5:50.
