
Blowfish Announce July's Community Organizations of the Night

Columbia, SC (July 8, 2014) - The Columbia Blowfish have announced July's Community Organizations of the Night beginning on Tuesday, July 8 at Capital City Stadium.
The Blowfish and Carolina Business Equipment (CBE) have partnered to bring an additional perk to this year's program. If the Blowfish win on any of the selected dates, the organization that is featured that night, will receive a FREE copier, courtesy of Carolina Business Equipment. CBE has provided "Solutions at the Speed of Business" since 1975 with offices in Columbia, Charleston, Aiken and Augusta.
"We are excited to begin this year's program especially with the addition of three more organizations, and our new partnership with CBE." Blowfish General Manager, Kelly Evans, said. "This year we are going to recognize more organizations than we ever have, and with the perks increased by CBE, this year will be one to remember."

These selected Organizations of the Night will receive complimentary tickets for their staff and volunteers, and will be showcased throughout the night of their designated game. The Non Profit will set up a booth on the concourse, where they will greet fans and educate them on the work they do in the Midlands. Before the game, a representative from the non-prfit organization will be interviewed on the field over the public address system and also throw out the ceremonial first pitch. During the game, the organization's representative will be a guest on the CPL Webpass broadcast for a half-inning.
The Blowfish are in their 8th season in the Coastal Plain League, and play their games at Historic Capital City Stadium. Tickets start at just $6.00 for adult and $5.00 for kids, seniors and military with an id. The Coastal Plain League is the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 18th season in 2014, the CPL proudly features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. The CPL gives college players a chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,100 alumni drafted and 65 alums - including 2011AL MVP and CY Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
