The Bloomington PrairieThunder of the Central Hockey League today announced the signing of two players which will bring veteran leadership to the organization. Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Jason Christie, has announced that goaltender Marco Emond and defenseman Jamie Lovell have agreed to terms for the 2010-2011 season which begins in mid-October.

Thirty-three year old Marco Emond joins the PrairieThunder after splitting time last season with the CHL Tulsa Oilers and in France with the Hockey Club Neuilly-sur-Marne. The 5'-10", 195 lbs. native of Valleyfield, Quebec begins his thirteenth professional season having previously been associated with three Central Hockey League championship teams. The veteran goaltender was a member of the 2003-04 Laredo Bucks, 2006-07 Colorado Eagles, and 2007-08 Arizona Sundogs Ray Miron President's Cup championship squads.

Marco began his professional career during the 1998-99 season, after playing in the British Columbia Junior Hockey League, playing for both the CHL Topeka Scarecrows and the ECHL Chesapeake Icebreakers. He also played for parts of two seasons in Jackson, Mississippi (ECHL). His other pro stops include Monroe in the WPHL; New Haven, Elmira, and Flint in the UHL; and Bridgeport and San Antonio in the AHL. Emond's best years came during the 2003-04 season when he posted a record of 22 wins, 4 losses, and 3 overtime losses, along with an outstanding 2.10 goals against average for Laredo and the 2006-07 season with Colorado where he had a goals against average of 2.54 and a record of 28 wins and 8 losses.

Defenseman Jamie Lovell played the past three seasons for the IHL's Port Huron Icehawks. During his time in Port Huron, the twenty-eight year old native of Elora, Ontario was a solid contributor on the Icehawks blue line, scoring 29 goals and adding 66 assists for 95 points in 211 games. Lovell was also a +15. The 6'-0", 190 lbs Lovell also brings Central Hockey League experience to the PThunder, having played the 2005-06 season for the Odessa Jackalopes and splitting the 06-07 season between the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and the Tulsa Oilers.

Jamie played both college hockey and junior hockey before turning pro. He played two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League and four years of college hockey at the University of Guelph in Ontario.

"The addition of both Marco Emond and Jamie Lovell gives us two players with a lot of professional experience at this level," said PrairieThunder Head Coach Jason Christie. "Both players should bring leadership to our locker room and their past playoff experience is invaluable."
