Laredo Bucks News Release

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Tuesday that they have re-signed forward Mark O'Leary for the 2010-11 season. O'Leary is entering his fifth professional season, including his second with the Bucks.

In 199 professional games the 25-year-old O'Leary has put up a total of 64 points (29-3564) for eight different professional teams.

Last season O'Leary had six points (3-36) and a plus-three rating in just nine games for the Bucks as he suffered a season ending injury on January 29th against Texas.

"Mark played well for us in the nine games he was in the line-up last season," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "He came in here and put a spark in our offense and came up big on a couple of occasions for us. We think he could be a key player for us this season and that's why we brought him back."

O'Leary made an immediate impact with the Bucks last season as he picked up two points (1-12) in his first game with the team in a 4-3 win over Texas on January 3rd. The Owen Sound, Ontario native had two multi-point games for the Bucks last season.

"Mark has been working very hard to come back from the injury he had last season," Ruskowski said. "He's very determined to come back because he has unfinished business here."

The 5'10'', 200 pound O'Leary began last season in the ECHL spending time with Johnstown and Cincinnati. He picked up four points in 15 games (2-24) with the Chiefs and Cyclones.

O'Leary spent 2006-2008 with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees where he put up a total of 31 points (11-2031) in 103 games.

O'Leary played 16 games in the AHL with Grand Rapids during the 2007-08 season where he scored four points (3-14).

O'Leary spent the 2008-09 season in the ECHL with Phoenix, Trenton and Reading (10-919).

Prior to turning pro O'Leary played three years in the OHL.

O'Leary is the 18th Buck signed for the 2010-11 season, including the eighth returnee (Pier Pelletier, Ryan Lehr, Serge Dube, Neil Trimm, Jarred Mohr, Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel, Justin Styffe, Mark O'Leary).

The Bucks will start their ninth CHL season on October 15th with their home opener October 23rd against Rio Grande Valley at Laredo Energy Arena. Season tickets are on sale now for the 2010-11 season. Call 718-BUCK (2825) to place our order now.
