Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Green Bay Blizzard have announced the signing of defensive back Dedrick Vanover for the 2024 season.
Vanover (5' 10", 175 lbs.) will join his older brother, Tamarick Jr., in camp this Spring after a standout football career at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA and track career at the University of Florida.
Dedrick, a Gainesville, FL native, appeared in 20 games from 2018-2019 for the Morehouse Maroon Tigers. His career 53 tackles, 3 TFLs, 7 INTs, 21 PBUs, and one fumble recovery earned him 2nd Team All-SIAC (Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) DB honors in 2019.
Vanover was a lightning bolt on the University of Florida's track and field team from 2021-2022. He was the 2022 SEC 60m Indoor champion, 4x100m Relay Outdoor champion, two-time 1st Team All-SEC performer (60m Indoor & 4x100m Outdoor), and three-time USTFCCCA All-American (1st Team - 4x100m Relay, 100m; 2nd Team - 60m Indoor). This success contributed to Florida's NCAA Men's Outdoor National Championship title in 2022! Dedrick's speed earned him an invitation to Florida's 2023 football pro day, the only non-football UF athlete to participate.
Dedrick's father, Tamarick Sr., played six seasons in the NFL as a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs (1995-1999) and San Diego Chargers (2002).
"I'm excited to continue doing what I love and what I dedicated everything to do," Dedrick recently shared. "I'm looking forward to joining the Blizzard community. Go Blizz!"
