Green Bay Blizzard News Release

Are you ready for some Arena Football! The 2009 Green Bay Blizzard season is fast approaching and the Blizzard coaching staff is filling their roster for training camp which begins in early March. Rejoining the Blizzard from the 2009 season will be QB Collin Drafts (6'3 210, Charleston), OL Raymond McNeil (6'1 315, Fort Valley) and FB/LB Jarrel Walker (6'2 275, CW Post).

In 2008, Drafts led the Blizzard in passing with 1,473 yards and 27 touchdowns and had a passer rating of 98.04 in 10 games. McNeil was a staple of a Blizzard offensive line that ranked second in the af2 in sacks against, allowing only 13 and fourth in the af2 in rushing offense.

Walker played in three games in 2008 and looks to rejoin a Blizzard defense ranked first in the af2 in total defense, pass defense and sacks by and second in scoring defense. FB/LB Orlando Medlock (6'0 240, Utah) will join the Blizzard after playing the 2008 season with the Lubbock Renegades. Medlock ranked third in the af2 in total rushing yards with 307. Medlock averaged 19.2 yards per game and scored 12 touchdowns with the Renegades.

FB/LB David Ihedigbo (6'1 235, American International) will look to make an impact on the Blizzard defense. In 2007, Ihedigbo was an all-af2 selection at the linebacker position with the Amarillo Dusters. Ihedigbo led the Dusters with 60.0 tackles, and also had 1.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 interceptions.

Also joining the Blizzard roster are two West Virginia alumni WR/DB Larry Williams (6'1 200, West Virginia) and OL/DL Craig Wilson (6'1 277, West Virginia). Former Blizzard DL Jason Hardee and Joe Sykes both attended West Virginia. Sykes earned the 2008 af2 Defensive Player and Lineman of the Year awards, and owns the franchise's single-season sack record with 26.0. Hardee previously held the single-season franchise record with 8.5 sacks. Sykes tied an af2 single game record with 5.0 sacks, also held by Blizzard DL Odell Willis.

Follow the Blizzard all season long on their quest for ArenaCup 10. The season is highlighted by four Buck Nights, the UW Badger Band and plenty of fun and entertainment for the entire family.
