Blizzard Finalize Roster, Announce Hawk as Starting QB

The Green Bay Blizzard has announced their final roster for the 2007 season. The Blizzard has named Ryan Hawk the starting quarterback for the season opener against the expansion Fort Wayne Fusion.

QB Ryan Hawk (6'2", 215 Ohio University) is coming into his 2nd season in af2. Ryan played in 13 games with the Birmingham Steeldogs and threw for 2,395 yards and 34 touchdowns. Hawk ended his collegiate career at Ohio University in 2004 throwing for 1,428 yards with 10 touchdowns.

The Blizzard returns four players from the 2006 Championship season. DL Jason Hardee (6'3, 290 West Virginia), QB Zeke Dixon (6'1, 225 Stephen F. Austin), K Dallas Pelz (6'0, 190 Buffalo) and FB/LB Gustavus Tyson (6'3, 250 Virginia Union) all return this season after winning the East Division and American Conference Championships in 2006.

The Blizzard opens the 2007 season on the road, traveling to Fort Wayne to face the Fusion. The team will return home on Friday, April 13th for the season home opener to play the Manchester Wolves. The game will feature a "Night of Champions," highlighting the Eastern Division and American Conference Championships and the return of former Blizzard Head Coach Bob Landsee and team President Brian Noble in an East Division and American Conference Championship Banner Raising Ceremony. The Oneida Nation's will also be celebrate there 185th Anniversary as a nation with, $1.85 concessions items that include 22oz. bigger beers and sodas and a special performance by the Oneida Nation Dancers. There will also be 185 Oneida Casino prize packages with 30 of them including the Jersey's worn in last years Championship game.
