Green Bay Blizzard News Release
Last week's 49-47 win over the Peoria Pirates places Green Bay in a position to overtake the division leading Iowa Barnstormers. Iowa holds the better overall record at 7-3, but Green Bay is nipping on their heels at 6-4 in the standings. More indicative in the matchup is both teams are 5-1 in the American Conference Midwest Division.
Green Bay will try and extend their winning streak to three games as the Blizzard travel to Iowa taking on the Barnstorm- ers this Saturday, June 13th. Iowa and Green Bay last met in Green Bay on May 8th as the Blizzard rallied from behind with four touchdowns in the second half, but eventually fell short losing 46-41 to their division rival.
Both teams are coming off wins as Iowa beat their intra-state foe Quad City 69-49 last weekend. Green Bay is starting to hit on all cylinders as they improve to 6-4 overall. Green Bay leads the all-time series 2-1 with Iowa.
The Blizzard return home on Friday, June 19th to square off against the Tulsa Talons. The world famous Klement's Racing Sausages will be featured and it's "Buck Night" with $1 beer, soda, and hotdogs.
