Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Green Bay Blizzard announced today that they have been assigned two more players by the af2 league office: NFL veteran OL/DL Antonio Dingle and Arena Football rookie FB/LB Rodney Terry.
In Dingle (6-4, 320 Virginia), the Blizzard have landed another player that boasts NFL experience. Since beginning his professional career in 1999, Dingle has spent time with the Green Bay Packers, Carolina Panthers and Oakland Raiders of the NFL, as well as the Scottish Claymores of the NFLE, the New York Dragons of the AFL, and the Rochester Nighthawks and Tulsa Talons of the af2.
Dingle was one of the original "Hounds of Scotland," the swarming defensive line of the now-defunct Claymores of NFL Europe (NFLE). The line, which also included Robert Flickinger, Tom Tovo, and future Jacksonville Jaguars and Kansas City Chiefs DE Jabbar Threats, harassed NFLE quarterbacks at a record-breaking pace during the 2000 and 2001 seasons.
"He's big, he's strong, and he's smart," said Blizzard Offensive Coordinator Rod Smith. "He's been giving quarterbacks nightmares for a long time, and he's definitely going to help our pass rush this season."
Miller also liked Dingle's versatility. "He's played both ways for a while now. He's proven himself at both positions [OL and DL] at every level there is, so he's not going to have any problems at all working in our system."
Terry (6-2, 255 Virginia Union) joins the Blizzard for his first season in Arena Football.
