
Blitz Visit Longfellow School; Kids Fest 2004 This Weekend

Tuesday, June 1st - Bakersfield Blitz players Phil Blackmon and Kevin Carroll will visit Longfellow School beginning at 1:30pm. Blackmon and Carroll will be reading to a kindergarten class. Longfellow School is located at 1900 Stockton Street in Bakersfield.
Tuesday, June 1st - Bakersfield Condors Head Coach Marty Raymond will begin his long awaited Adult Mini Camp at the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center with the camp running thru Friday, June 4th. The camp is designed to give adult hockey players the knowledge and skills to be better hockey players. Coach Raymond will be joined by Condors Assistant Head Coach Paul Willett and might also have a few surprise guests. The dates for the camp are, Tuesday, June 1st 9:15pm - 10:15pm, Wednesday, June 2nd 10:00pm - 11:00pm, Thursday, June 3rd 8:15pm - 10:15pm, and Friday, June 4th there will be a game played from 6:45pm - 8:00pm. Contact the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center for all the details or to sign up at 852-7400. Bakersfield Ice Sports Center is located at 1325 Q Street.
Thursday, June 3rd - Come on down to the Holiday Inn Select for the Indoor War Report as the "Voice of the Blitz" Kevin Bartl is joined by Blitz Head Coach Rick Van Horne, as well as select Blitz players from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. The IWR is a great chance for fans to meet their favorite members of the 2004 Blitz as well as win great prizes. The Holiday Inn Select is located at the corner of Truxtun Avenue and Q Street. The show can also be heard live each week on KGEO AM 1230.
Friday, June 4th - Tune in to K-Lite 105.3 for the Breakfast with the Blitz beginning at 7:40am. The Friday before every home game during the 2004 season select Blitz players will enjoy breakfast with a lucky fan. Tune in Thursday morning to qualify for your chance to have Breakfast with the Blitz.
Saturday, June 5th - Join Bakersfield Sports Entertainment and the Blitz mascot Crusher at the KGET-TV 17 Kids Fest 2004. The Condors Slapshot, and Blitz Football Toss will be at the event from 9:00am - 3:00pm. Bakersfield Sports Entertainment co-sponsors this year's Kids Fest, which is being held at Yokuts Park, located at 4200 Empire Drive.
Saturday, June 5th - Join the Bakersfield Blitz as they host the Hawaiian Islanders with the first 2,000 fans though the turnstiles receiving a Blitz beach towel compliments of KUZZ 107.9 & Bright House Networks. The night is also a Bright House Networks Family Night. Subscribers receive $5.00 terrace admission per person by presenting the coupon available in their cable bill. Also on Saturday, the Bakersfield Blitz honor the hard work of Kern County students with the Blitz Summer Excellence Program. Students who achieved outstanding attendance levels receive a complimentary terrace ticket to the game. Don't miss out on a special opportunity with Saturday being a Guaranteed Win Night! The Blitz guarantee fans will see a Blitz victory when attending Saturday's game. In the unlikely event the Blitz does not win Saturday, fans may show their ticket stub for equal or lesser value tickets to the game on June 19th as well as subsequent games until the see a Blitz win.
