
Blitz Promotional Schedule

Bakersfield, CA - The Bakersfield Blitz of the af2 have announced their complete promotional schedule for the 2004 season. The Blitz are two games into the campaign, with a 1-1 record, and are preparing for their home opener this weekend against divisional rivals, the San Diego Riptide.
Everyone in attendance on Saturday will receive a Blitz Magnet Schedule, sponsored by WB-12, 98.5 The Fox, and Whitewater Car Wash & Lube. The famous ZOOperstars will also entertain fans during the game, as they make their arena football debut in Bakersfield. The ZOOperstars are giant animal mascots of famous sports stars, with Peyton Manatee, Nomar Garciaparrot, Mia Hamster and Harry Canary in attendance.
The Blitz open their home schedule of eight games this weekend, but have a full slate of promotions lined up for the summer months. Bakersfield returns to home turf on Saturday, May 1st, when they will host the Arkansas Twisters at 7:00pm. That game features a visit from the Famous Chicken and everyone through the turnstiles will get a free Team Poster, sponsored by KRAB Radio.
The remaining home games are highlighted by a "Jerseys Off Our Backs" raffle and auction to celebrate Armed Forces Day on May 15th to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Bakersfield, and Steve Wofford replica jersey night on May 22nd. The second half of the schedule features Beach Towel Giveaway on June 5th, Blitz Visors on June 19th, Chad Elliott Bobblehead Night on July 17th, and Football Giveaway to close out the regular season on July 31st.
The Blitz and Riptide renew their rivalry this weekend in the first of four meetings between the Western Division foes, at 7:00pm. Doors open at 6:00pm. All Blitz games, home and away, can be heard on KGEO AM 1230 with the "Voice of the Blitz" Kevin Bartl. This weekend's game can also be seen live on Bright House Networks Ch. 21.
