FIRE WINS... The Fire opened the 2004 season on the right foot with a, 37-35, victory over the Hawaiian Islanders. The victory was highlighted by Ryan Russell's 55-yard kickoff return to open the game and capped off by Tony Stallings' two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Stallings was named Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Game and US Army Ironman of the Game. DS Justin Thomas was named ADT Defensive Player of the Game with 10 tackles and nine pass break-ups.

$1 NIGHT NUMBER ONE... The Fire will take on the 2003 ArenaCup Runner-Up Macon Knights on Friday night in Freedom Hall. The game is the first of four $1 nights. Fans can purchase $1 popcorn, hot dogs, Pepsi, and Bud and Bud Light (limit 2 per ticket) from 6:00 p.m. through the end of the first quarter. The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a Louisville Fire mini-bat courtesy of Hillerich and Bradsby. This year's bats are black with the Fire and Louisville Slugger logos in silver.

AFL ON NBC... This week on the AFL on NBC the Colorado Crush (7-3) will visit the New York Dragons (5-4). Fire offensive coordinator Chris MacKeown coached under Crush head coach Mike Dailey with the Indiana Firebirds. While you are laying on the couch recovering from Thunder you can check out all the action on WAVE-3 starting at 3:00 pm on Sunday.

NEW MERCHANDISE... Don't forget to stop by the merchandise booth at home games to buy your hats, t-shirts and other Fire merchandise.

FIRE RANKED SEVENTH... The Fire has broke into the coach's poll for the first time this season. The Fire is ranked seventh and this week's opponent, Macon, is ranked ninth. See the attached release for details.

UK/U of L CHALLENGE... U of L is up 1-0 in the CHA UK/ U of L challenge. This week we are taking contestants from the FIRE WIRE. The first two UK and U of L fans that reply to the Fire Wire will get to participate in this weeks challenge. When you reply state which team you are a fan of.

COME TO APPLEBEE'S... The Fire's coaches show Inside the Fire is going to be taping at a different Applebee's location each week. The show will be taped every Monday, this Monday we will be at Applebee's on Taylorsville Road. The show can be seen on WYCS, channel 24 on Insight, at 7:00 on Thursday nights. Anyone who purchases a Flex Pack at Applebee's will get a $20 gift card to Applebee's.
