
Blitz Launch BLITZ WOW! (Women of Wisdom) Program

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield Blitz announced the launch of BLITZ WOW! (Women of Wisdom) program prior to the home-opener on Saturday, April 21, according to Blitz President/General Manager Andrew Watkins.
"We are proud to announce the launch the BLITZ WOW! (Women of Wisdom) program in conjunction with the University of Phoenix," said Watkins. Our goal is to use our many organizational resources to help our local community in novel and unique way. The UOP has been a great partner and we are excited about the launch of this program."
The BLITZ WOW! (Women of Wisdom) program is a series of seminars aimed at promoting and increasing awareness of the many educational programs, resources and career enhancement options available to women in Bakersfield and Kern County. The hour-long "network-ucation" events will provide invaluable professional and social networking opportunities with many of the most successful women in the local area while introducing Arena Football and the fun experience of attending a game with family, friends, and colleagues.
The featured speaker at the inaugural event will be local newscaster Robin Mangarin. Recently honored as the State of California's "Woman of the Year," Mangarin is an anchor at KGET, and has been an active member in many local organizations including the Kern County Network for Children, CASA, the American Cancer Society, the Keep Foundation, C.A.R.E. (Children's Advocacy Resource Endowment), the Boys and Girls Club of Bakersfield, American Heart Association, and the Women's & Girl's Fund of Kern County.
Additional program dates include Saturday, May 19th; Saturday, June 9th; and Saturday, July 21st.
The program begins at 5pm with free admission made possible through the University of Phoenix. Those in attendance will also receive complimentary admission to the Blitz game immediately following. For more information, please contact the Blitz offices at 661-377-2548.
