Kamloops Blazers News Release
The Blazers enter the second week following the Christmas break at an even .500 on the season...posting a 19-19-1-1 record 40 games into the season. Here's what happened last week en route to a 1-1-1-0 record:
LAST WEEK:
December 27th @ Seattle
Ashton Rome's second goal of the game with 9:24 to play broke a 3-3 tie as the
Blazers went on to a 4-3 win in Seattle on Tuesday night. Ray Macias and Travis
Dunstall scored for the Blazers...who went 2-for-4 on the PP and 5-for-5 on the PK.
Final shots were 27-24 Blazers. Michael Maniago picked up the win while Andrew
Pinsent suffered the loss in relief of Gavin McHale.
December 28th @ Tri-Cities
Matt Schneider scored twice as the Americans held on for a 4-3 win over the Blazers
on Wednesday in Tri-Cities. TJ Mulock, Terrance Delaronde, and Ray Macias scored
for the Blazers...who were 2-for-8 on the PP. The Ams were 4-for-6 with the extra
man. Final shots were 29-24 Blazers. Michael Maniago suffered the loss while Carey
Price picked up the win.
December 29th @ Portland
Kyle Bailey scored 1:10 into OT as the Winterhawks won a highly-entertaining 6-5
decision at the Rose Garden. Brock Nixon scored twice for the Blazers with Terrance
Delaronde, TJ Mulock, and Victor Bartley adding singles. Final shots were 30-23
Blazers...with the Michael Maniago taking the loss in relief and Luke Shier earning
the win. Kamloops was 3-for-9 on the PP and 6-for-8 on the PK.

NEWS:
The Blazers have called up 16-year-old netminder Kurt Kramer to back up Michael
Maniago while Devan Dubnyk is away at World Juniors. Kramer, a 6'4", 190-pound
native of Richmond, is playing for the Vancouver Rangers of the BC Major Midget
League. Plus, the Blazers have recalled 17-year-old forward Adam Chorneyko from the
Fort Saskatchewan Traders of the AJHL and 16-year-old forward Alex Rodgers from the
Thompson Blazers of the BC Major Midget League. Chorneyko had 5 goals and 9 points
in 25 games with the Traders this season. Rodgers has 18 goals and 20 assists in 22
games this season.
