Utah Blaze News Release
SALT LAKE CITY - After claiming him off of reassignment last week, the Utah Blaze have placed LB Antwan Marsh on the team's active roster. Marsh is a top-notch athlete that brings two years of Arena Football League experience, and should be an instant contributor at the Jack linebacker position.
"Antwan Marsh is a versatile athlete who will bring a lot of energy to our defense," said President & Head Coach Ron James. "We are looking forward to having him on our team as we head into a critical part of our schedule."
Marsh (6-3, 210, Pikeville) was assigned to the Orlando Predators in the offseason, but parted ways with the team prior to the start of the regular season. He played with the Spokane Shock during the past two seasons, where he earned an ArenaBowl Championship after contributing four interceptions as a rookie in 2010.
During his collegiate career, Marsh was a three-year starter at safety for Pikeville (Ky.) College. He was signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2006, but injuries plagued his two-year stint with the team. He later signed with the New York Giants, but failed a physical that voided his contract before entering the Arena Football League in 2010.
