Blast Sign Free Agent Forward Victor France to Three Year Contract

May 17, 2019 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) - Baltimore Blast News Release

(Baltimore, MD) - The Blast have announced the signing of ex-Seawolves Forward Victor France to a three year contract. Per team and league policies, no other terms of the agreement were disclosed.

The four year veteran midfielder arrives in Baltimore after appearing for the St. Louis Ambush, Cedar Rapids Rampage, and Orlando Seawolves. A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, France played collegiate soccer for Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas and Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi. In his rookie season with the St. Louis Ambush, Victor France recorded 18 points in 14 games for the Ambush, leading the team in goals and points. France broke out onto the MASL scene in 2017-18 after he recorded a 26 point season in 19 games for the St. Louis Ambush and the Cedar Rapids Rampage.

France moved to Orlando last season, where he only appeared in seven games due to injury. Despite his injuries, France was on pace to break his point total from the previous season, averaging just over 1.5 points per game. Through his seven games, he totaled 11 points on one goal and ten assists. Coach Danny Kelly stated "We're very excited to have signed a player of Victor France's quality. He's a playmaker, with the ability to create chances for himself as well as his teammates. He's a great addition and will have an immediate impact in our team." France is the first free-agent signing the Blast have made during this Free Agency Period.

Beginning May 15 at 9 a.m. EDT through May 30 at 6 p.m. EDT will be considered a "Live Period" for contract negotiations. Players with contracts expiring prior to November 1, 2019 will be able to sign with any team ONLY during this period. Players with expired contracts are free to sign at any time. If a player is already under contract or signs a contract extension (pending league approval) through the 2019-2020 season, they will not be eligible during the Live Period.
