Blast Announces October 19 Home Opener

Baltimore, MD - The Baltimore Blast will play their 2007-08 home opener on Friday, October 19 at 1st Mariner Arena. The Blast will host their long-time rival, the Philadelphia KiXX, in the team's first game of the 2007-08 season. The complete 2007-08 MISL schedule will be released at a later date. The game is scheduled for a 7:35 p.m. kick off.

In addition to the normal opening night festivities, October 19th will also feature a post-game concert by the Christian rock band, Big Daddy Weave. The concert will begin almost immediately following the completion of the Blast vs. KiXX game. The Blast game ticket includes admission to the post-game concert.

The Blast will play 15 home games at 1st Mariner Arena this season (30 total games), with the playoffs set to begin in April. The 2007-08 season marks the first season for three MISL expansion clubs - the New Jersey Ironmen, the Orlando Sharks and the Monterrey (Mexico) La Raza. The Sharks drafted former Blast players Jonny Steele and Brian Rowland earlier this summer in the 2007 MISL Expansion Draft.

Keeping with the Baltimore Blast tradition of affordable family entertainment, fans will be treated to various promotional items throughout the season including replica jersey T-shirts, soccer balls and bobble heads. The team will host a variety of theme nights including Boy and Girl Scout night and two post-game Christian concerts. In addition, the Blast will induct at least one additional player into the Blast Hall of Fame later in the season.

Blast season tickets and mini-plans are on sale now through the Blast office. Single-game tickets will go on sale in September and will be available at the 1st Mariner Arena Box Office and at all TicketMaster outlets including TicketMaster phonecharge at 410-547-SEAT. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com.

The Blast is in its final week of the team's annual summer soccer camp program. The team hosted 20 sessions of camp and more than 1,100 youth soccer players. The team will begin training camp in the middle of September.
