Blast Announce Signing of Jonathan Greenfield

Baltimore, MD- Baltimore Blast President and General Manager, Kevin Healey, announced today that the team has signed defender Jonathan Greenfield.

The Cape Town, South Africa native is in his 14th professional indoor season. Greenfield started the season as the player/coach of the Cedar Rapids Rampage, where he recorded five assists in five games played. Greenfield has also played for the Detroit Ignition, Milwaukee Wave, and the Baltimore Blast. He has been a member of four championship teams, including with the Blast in 2009. In his first stint with the Blast, Greenfield recorded eight goals and four assists in 24 games played over two seasons. Greenfield will join the team on February 5th.

Blast head coach, Danny Kelly, said, " I think Jonathan Greenfield is a great addition to the team. He's a seasoned pro, and he brings a wealth of experience having played professionally both indoor and outdoor in this country. Jonathan also won a championship with us back in 2009, so we're familiar with each other, and he knows what we expect and what we're trying to accomplish. We're looking forward to getting him in and integrating him into the team as we make our push to compete for a championship."

The Blast return home this weekend when they host the Syracuse Silver Knights on Saturday, February 3rd at 6:05 p.m. EST at SECU Arena.
