Saskatoon Blades News Release
The Saskatoon Blades are gearing up for a huge weekend as they are set to play host against the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday and the Victoria Royals on Saturday!
Saskatoon is coming off of a 6-4 loss to Brandon on Wednesday night as a big third period by the Wheat Kings snapped Saskatoon's five game winning streak.
The Blades will be looking for some revenge on Friday as they have a chance to get back to their winning ways and return the favour against the division rivals from Brandon.
Then, on Saturday Saskatoon is set to take on the brand new Victoria Royals for the first and only meeting of the season between the two teams. Victoria is the final BC Division team to travel through the prairies as the former Chilliwack Bruins continue to battle it out for a playoff spot in the WHL's Western Conference.
All kinds of great events are planned for the two days so make sure you get involved and take in the great action at the Credit Union Centre. All the details about the fantastic events can be found below!

- The Saskatoon Blades are celebrating Hockey Day in Saskatchewan in style this weekend as it's also Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame Weekend in Saskatoon! Prior to the game on Saturday, the Blades will be honouring the first ever inductees into the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame. The names set to be honoured include Glenn Hall, Bryan Trottier, Johnny Bower and Gordie Howe, among others. You won't want to miss the festivities as you will get a chance to see some hockey legends in the flesh!

- Saturday, January 21st is also Minor Hockey Night and great tickets are still available for teams of all ages and sizes. We're looking to pack the building full of excited hockey fans. For more information on the event, visit: http://www.saskatoonblades.com/page/minor-hockey-night
- This weekend the Blades will also be holding "Jersey Weekend". Blades fans are encouraged to wear their Blades/Quakers jerseys on both nights. Those wearing jerseys will get a number of perks, including a better chance at winning in-game prizes, a deal at concessions and even a store discount of 20%!!
- The concession deal for that night is as follows:
Med Popcorn & 24oz pop will be $7.25 for anyone that receives the card at the door for wearing a jersey. (Regular price would be $8.25 so a 12% discount)
Hot Dog & 24oz pop will be $6.50 for anyone that receives the card at the door for wearing a jersey. (Regular price would be $7.25 so a 10% discount.)
- The Blades are also running a special promotion for Jersey Weekend as one lucky fan will have the chance to win the game-worn jersey right off the back of Duncan Siemens! All you'll have to do is sign up at the proper table on Saturday night and be entered to win. Following the game, you'll get to meet the Blades captain and get him to sign his jersey for you!
- The Saskatoon Blades have also just received a fresh batch of hockey cards! Those who come to the game on Saturday night will be able to get some of those cards for free, featuring your favourite Blades stars, including Andrey Makarov!
- On January 25th, the Saskatoon Blades, BMO and the WHL are set to host the BMO Ultimate Fan Contest in Saskatoon! Blades fans are encouraged to dress up in all of their Blades gear and head down to the Lawson branch of BMO in Saskatoon to take part in the contest at 5:30PM. Fans with the best costume/gear will have a chance to win a signed team jersey and a chance to win two tickets to the 2012 MasterCard Memorial Cup in Shawinigan!
