Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced Wednesday that the team has traded the rights to goaltender Cody Reichard to the Fort Wayne Komets in exchange for future considerations.

Reichard, 26, was originally acquired by the Everblades from the Stockton Thunder on March 8 of this year. Reichard did not make an appearance for the Everblades because he was recalled to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League at the time of his acquisition.

Reichard posted a 13-8-5 record, a 2.64 goals against average, and a .911 save percentage for Stockton last season. In addition, the 5-11, 165-pound netminder made seven appearances with Houston last spring, registering a 3-1-1 mark, a 2.41 goals against average, and a .910 save percentage.

The Celina, OH native was a standout goaltender at Miami University (Ohio). Reichard posted a record of 53-24-9, a 2.10 goals against average, and a .912 save percentage during his four-year collegiate career (2008-12).

Reichard will now join former Everblades netminder John Muse, who recently agreed to terms with Fort Wayne earlier this month.

The Everblades open the 2013-14 season at Germain Arena on Friday, October 18 against the Orlando Solar Bears. Individual game tickets go on sale on September 7.
