Blades to Hold Pre-Season Alumni Game

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades announced today that for the first time in the team's history former players will return to Germain Arena for a pre-season alumni game.
The game will take place on Tuesday, October 5 at 7:30 p.m. and will feature past Everblades players taking on current Everblades players. All the proceeds from the ticket sales, plus the money raised in a post-game jersey auction of the alumnus's uniforms will be donated to the Piper Buckley Foundation, which is a nonprofit foundation that was formed after the death of former Everblade Tom Buckley's daughter last December. The foundation donates money to the Lee Memorial Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Ernie Hartlieb, who is the all-time leader in games played in Florida history, helped set up the event and had this to say, "What happened last year to Tom and Heather was absolutely devastating. It was just so sudden, after it happened Craig Brush and I said we were going to do something, but we weren't sure what. I talked to my girlfriend and she said how she'd love to watch some of the old Everblades play the future Everblades, so that's how the idea came to fruition."
Tickets for the alumni game are on sale now at the T.I.B. Bank Box Office at Germain Arena for $10. The jerseys worn by the alumni players will be in the design of the original Everblades jerseys worn from 1998-2004.
Some of the former players that are confirmed to participate in the game include Buckley, Reggie Berg, Marc Magliarditi, Brandon Coalter, Terry Lindgren, Brent McDonald, Ryan Brindley, Keith Anderson and Matt Pagnutti.
