ECHL Compiling All-Decade Team

ESTERO, FL - The ECHL has announced that it is accepting nominations for a league-wide "All-Decade Team" to honor the top players in the league between 2000-2010.

Teams and fans can nominate players by e-mailing ECHL@echl.com through September 17. The team will consist of six forwards, four defensemen, two goaltenders, and one coach. Starting in early October, fans will have the opportunity to vote for players at www.echl.com and the team will be announced in November.

To be eligible, players must have skated or coached in at least four seasons in the ECHL between 2000 and 2010. Only achievements and accolades accumulated during that timeframe should be taken into consideration when nominating or voting for a player or coach.

The Florida Everblades have submitted for nomination long-time forwards Reggie Berg, Tom Buckley and Ernie Hartlieb. Defensively the Everblades have nominated former team captain Ryan Brindley.

The merits achieved by each are impressive. In all seven years of his professional career Berg skated for the Everblades. From 2000 until he retired following the 2006-07 season, the Anoka, Minnesota native played in 228 regular season ECHL games scoring 266 points. Berg also saw action in 48 Kelly Cup Playoff games from 2000-07 notching 43 points. Berg is the all-time leader in points and goals in Everblades history with 319 and 145 respectively.

Buckley skated with the Everblades for the first four years of the decade tallying an impressive 223 points and 352 penalty minutes in 219 regular season games. The former captain also recorded 37 points in 29 Kelly Cup Playoff games. Buckley is the Everblades all-time leader in assists with 207 and PIM with 422.

Hartlieb has spent the past six seasons with the Everblades and became the team's all-time leader in games played last year. In addition to his 341 career games with the Everblades from 2004-2010 the Warren, Michigan native also has 123 ECHL games under his belt with Dayton and Arkansas from 2000-2003. Overall in nine ECHL seasons Hartlieb has 348 points in 464 career ECHL games and has posted 31 points in 73 career Kelly Cup Playoff games.

Brindley saw his career span three different ECHL teams from 2000 until he retired following the 2006-07 season. The Thunder Bay, Ontario native began the decade with three seasons in South Carolina where he helped the Stingrays capture the 2001 Kelly Cup. After beginning the 2003-04 season with the Cincinnati Cyclones, Brindley was traded to the Everblades where he finished his career with three more seasons. As an Everblade he registered 87 points in 159 regular season games and chipped in 40 points in 60 Kelly Cup Playoff games. Overall from 2000-2007, Brindley amassed 235 points in 397 ECHL regular season games and totaled 59 points in 83 Kelly Cup Playoff games.
