ECHL Preseason Schedule Announced

September 8, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL) News Release

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced its preseason schedule of 21 games beginning Oct. 5 and continuing through Oct. 12.

The preseason opens Oct. 5 with the Alaska Aces hosting the Stockton Thunder.

The Premier 'AA' Hockey League will open its 23rd season with six games on Oct. 15. Opening weekend continues with eight games on Oct. 16 and concludes with one game on Oct. 17.

The third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League, the ECHL is the only minor professional hockey league to increase average attendance each of the last three seasons. The ECHL averaged more than 4,000 fans the last six seasons and 18 of the last 20 years and has drawn more than 3 million fans each of the last 17 seasons. Ontario led the league with 6,451 per game and 232,223 fans in 2009-10.

The Bakersfield Condors and Rabobank Arena will host the 19th Annual ECHL All-Star Classic presented by CCM on Jan. 26, 2011.
