Blades Assigned Tochkin, Levi from AHL Charlotte

Estero, FL - The Florida Everblades announced Thursday that defenseman Austin Levi and forward Kellan Tochkin have been reassigned to the team by the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.
Levi, 21, was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the third round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
"Austin is a big, two-way defender," assessed Everblades head coach Greg Poss. "He's a first-year pro coming off a strong junior career and we're excited to bring him in."
The 6'3" native of Columbus, Ohio, is entering his rookie campaign in the professional ranks after a five-year major junior career with the Plymouth Whalers of the OHL that saw the blueliner put up 86 points (16g, 70a) while racking up a plus-81 rating.
Tochkin, 22, was part of last week's three-player trade between the Hurricanes and the Vancouver Canucks.
"Kellan has a lot of scoring ability," gauged Poss. "We're excited for him to get started with us."
Over the course of his four-year major junior career, the native of Abbotsford, British Columbia, averaged nearly a point per game with 243 points (91g, 152a) in 256 appearances. He led all WHL rookies in scoring during the 2008-09 campaign with 20 goals and 54 assists.
The Everblades open the 2013-14 campaign at Germain Arena on Friday, October 18, with Black Out Night against the Orlando Solar Bears. Individual game tickets are now on sale at the Capital Bank Box Office at Germain Arena, Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
