San Francisco Bulls News Release
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team, proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced today their partnership with Defending the Blue Line. The Bulls are the first ECHL team to partner with the organization. A special Bulls game at the Cow Palace will spotlight the partnership on December 22.
"We're thrilled to be working with such a highly regarded organization like Defending the Blue Line," said Bulls Director of Corporate Partnerships Lisa Della-Santina. "The work they've done uniting military families with the sport of hockey since its founding in 2009 has been valuable on many levels."
Defending the Blue Line will have a strong presence with the Bulls throughout the season. In addition, special military discounts will be available at all Bulls home games. Details regarding the spotlight game on December 22 will be announced at a later date.
"Defending The Blue Line is honored for this opportunity to partner with the Bulls as its first ECHL team," said Shane Hudella, President and Founder of Defending the Blue Line. "The success of our mission depends greatly on the support we receive from the pro hockey community throughout the United States, and the Bulls have emerged as a key contributor to help with our mission in the Bay Area. We are humbled by their support and look forward to many years of combining our efforts to help keep hockey alive for the children of our nation's heroes."
A number of NHL players, including San Jose Sharks forward Brent Burns, have endorsed Defending the Blue Line. Find out more about Defending the Blue Line at Defendingtheblueline.org.
ABOUT DEFENDING THE BLUE LINE
Our mission at Defending The Blue Line (DTBL) is ensuring that children of military members are afforded every opportunity to participate in the game of hockey. We accomplish this by providing free equipment for military kids, hockey camps, special events, and financial assistance for registration fees and other costs associated with hockey. In addition, we provide unique experiences for the families such as attending an NHL game.
Currently, Defending The Blue Line has service members and other volunteers helping to run our program in NY, PA, CA, DC, NC, FL, OH, DC, and MN. They plan fundraisers for donations which are used to buy hockey equipment and provide grants for association dues for the children of military parents. Our staff plan events and find sponsors to host these events. They locate hockey camps for military children of all ages. They locate corporate partners, hockey players, and pro teams to endorse DTBL. We have an outstanding team of volunteers working hard every day.
