
Blacktop Hockey Makes Weekly Stop at Sam Houston Park Every Tuesday

AMARILLO, TX â The Amarillo Gorillas Blacktop Hockey Tour will have a permanent home every Tuesday night.
The tour will be at Sam Houston Park from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. as part of the Parks and Recreation Program. Director of Youth Hockey Jason Desloover, Stomp, the Gorillas Mascot, staff and members of the ownership group will be on hand during that time. There will be merchandise for sale and information available on season tickets, corporate partnerships and youth hockey.
"This is an incredible opportunity for us to be visible on a specific night for the remainder of the summer," said Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Denis J. Puska. "I am thrilled that parks and recreation has asked us to team up and it should be a lot of fun."
The Blacktop Hockey Tour will also be at United Supermarket on Bell and 45th Street this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fans are encourageD to come out and bring non perishable food items to help support the High Plains Food Bank. This is the second of three Blacktop Food Drives the Gorillas will be holding this summer.
The Amarillo Gorillas are preparing for the 2003-2004 season and fans are encouraged to inquire about full and partial season ticket packages by calling 242-7825 or dropping by their offices located at the corner of Eighth and Tyler in the lower level of the Commerce Building.
