St. Joseph Blacksnakes News Release
St. Joseph, MO-St. Joe (1-0, 27-22) jumped out early on the Lincoln Saltdogs (0-1, 31-18) to start the second half, 10-1, in a rain shortened contest. The night saw two rain delays before the third rain would end the ballgame and knock out the lights at Phil Welch Stadium in the middle of the seventh inning.
The game was delayed an hour before the first pitch, and then the Blacksnakes struck for three runs in each of the first three innings to win going away, 10-1. St. Joe's Evan Thomas (4-5) went five strong innings, allowing just a hit in the fifth inning.
The series will continue on the 4th of July at 7:05pm with Mark Nussbeck (4-2) starting for the Blacksnakes. There will be a Fireworks Extravaganza to follow the ballgame as the gates open at 6pm.
