
Blackhawks Agree to Terms with Morin

Chicago, Ill.- The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Jeremy Morin on a two-year contract extension, which runs through the 2015-16 National Hockey League season.
Morin, 23, tallied 11 points (5g, 6a) in 24 regular-season games last year with the Blackhawks and appeared in two Stanley Cup Playoff games with the club. He also recorded 47 points (24g, 23a) in 47 games with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League, leading the team in goals and ranking second in points.
The Auburn, N.Y., native has 16 points (8g, 8a) in 39 career NHL games with Chicago and 157 points (80g, 77a) in 205 career AHL games with Rockford. Prior to his professional career, Morin earned 83 points (47g, 36a) in 58 career games with Kitchener of the Ontario Hockey League in 2009-10. He also appeared for the United States in two World Junior Championships, earning a gold medal (2010) and bronze medal (2011).
Morin was originally selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the second round, 45th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He was acquired by the Blackhawks from Atlanta in a trade on June 23, 2010.
