Black Wolves Make Roster Moves

UNCASVILLE, Conn. - The New England Black Wolves have released Seth Oakes from the roster amidst a flurry of roster moves announced by the team on Wednesday.

Additionally, Dave Emala and Adam Perroni have been activated from the practice squad to the active roster. Signed by New England in August, Emala has played in 45 Major League Lacrosse games in his career with 112 points on 92 goals and 20 assists. Perroni has played in one career NLL regular season game, scooping up four loose balls for the Rochester Knighthawks. He also had one assist and three loose balls in a 2018 playoff game for Rochester.

Oakes had seen action in six games for the Black Wolves, tallying 11 points on four goals and seven assists. Originally selected in the first round, eighth overall, of the 2016 NLL Entry Draft by New England, the forward has played in 26 career games and has 40 career points (18 goals, 22 assists) for both New England and Vancouver in three seasons.

Defenseman John LaFontaine was moved to injured reserve on Wednesday as well. The alternate captain had one goal, one assist, 22 loose balls and three caused turnovers in six games for New England before his injury.

With those changes, New England signed forward Quinn Powless to the practice squad. Selected by the Black Wolves eighth overall in the 2014 NLL Entry Draft, Powless has played in 32 games in his five year career with both New England and Rochester. He has 38 points on 15 goals and 23 assists, including a career-best 11 points on six goals and five assists in eight games for the Knighthawks in 2017.

The Black Wolves will be in action next on Saturday, February 9 against the Rochester Knighthawks at Mohegan Sun Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased by visiting blackwolves.com or calling 844-LAX-WOLF.
