New England Black Wolves News Release

UNCASVILLE, Conn. - The New England Black Wolves have placed defender Brian Megill on season-ending injured reserve after he suffered a torn left anterior cruciate ligament.

In his third season with the franchise, Megill was injured in the first quarter of New England's against the Georgia Swarm on February 28th. In five games on the season, Megill had 14 loose balls and three caused turnovers.

"Losing Brian is going to be tough on our group," Black Wolves had coach Glenn Clark said. "His athleticism, skill and leadership will be missed. I spoke with Brian yesterday and he has a positive mindset. He's a young guy and he's prepared for the tough road back. I have no doubt he'll put in the work and be ready to return to lacrosse as strong as ever."

While losing Megill, New England has activated Andrew Suitor off of injured reserve. Suitor, who was acquired by New England on March 30, 2015, suffered a torn left anterior cruciate ligament on April 17, 2015 after playing in four games for the Black Wolves.

"He's been full practice with us - I mean he's been running with us for quite a while - he's probably been full for about a month in terms of contact," Clark said of the return of Suitor. "He's been deemed ready to go. He's healthy and ready and eager to get back at it. It's been a process. He's been part of it the whole time. He's been at the practices and traveled with us periodically. He's been in on chats with the team. He's been engaged and involved with the guys."

The 2012 NLL Transition Player of the Year, Suitor has recorded 80 points (43 goals, 37 assists) in his NLL career while scooping up 456 loose balls and causing 90 turnovers. He led the league in penalty minutes in 2014 with 73 and in 2012 with 74. The fourth overall pick by the Swarm in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft, Suitor was a member of the 2011 NLL All-Rookie Team as well as the 2012 NLL All-Pro First Team and the West All-Star Team in 2012.

The Black Wolves are in action next on Saturday, March 5th when they travel to Colorado to take on the Colorado Mammoth. Game time is set for 9 p.m. ET and can be watched live on NESNPlus.
