Black Hawks Release Promotional Schedule

Waterloo, Iowa - From the traditional hockey games on Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve to spontaneous opportunities to get out for fun with family and friends, starting one month from today, the Waterloo Black Hawks' 2019/20 home schedule will attract big crowds to downtown Waterloo .

Tuesday, the Black Hawks revealed their 2019/20 promotional schedule, adding more incentives to cheer on the team every time they take the ice at Young Arena.

"This might be among the best promotional schedules the Black Hawks have ever had," said President of Business Operations Joe Greene. "The deals make Black Hawks games a great option for families, there are unique ways we will update some things which fans have come to expect, and the hockey is always worth the price of admission."

Some of this season's highlights include:

Pricing Specials : Of the 30 games this winter, 23 feature a food, beverage, or ticket/concessions combo offer. The Hawks will also offer two different Family-4-Packs during select games. The Domino's Family-4-Pack comes with an entire Domino's Pizza, four soft drinks, and four tickets. The Hy-Vee Family-4-Pack includes a choice of bratwurst or macaroni and cheese, plus four soft drinks and four game tickets. Both are just $48.

Holidays : The Black Hawks will continue two longstanding traditions in 2019/20, while also celebrating two other notable holidays. Fans have become accustomed to games on Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve; this year Waterloo will host the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and Madison Capitols respectively. The RoughRiders are also in town for Valentine's Day. The Des Moines Buccaneers meet the Hawks on St. Patrick's Day.

Jerseys : Hawks players will take the ice in four different special jerseys, which will be auctioned to help cancer patients (November 15th and 16th), benefit veteran's causes (December 6th and 7th), support local youth organizations (February 7th and 8th), and assist Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity (March 27th and 28th). Stay tuned for exciting details about new designs during the coming months.

Giveaways : The most popular giveaway each year provides the first 500 kids in attendance with a free youth hockey jersey. This year's sweaters will be handed out on November 22nd, presented by SCHEELS, Christie Door Company, and KWWL. On the final night of the regular season (April 18th), hundreds of lucky fans will catch a free t-shirt from Next Generation Wireless. The Hawks and Famous Dave's will celebrate Young Arena's 25th anniversary with a commemorative keychain giveaway January 14th. The swag starts rolling on opening night when Cottonwood Canyon will present magnet schedules to those on hand.
