Berkshire Black Bears News Release

PITTSFIELD- Berkshire Black Bears owner Jonathan Fleisig will be a guest on a CNN roundtable discussion about the economics of baseball on Sunday morning from 7 to 8am. Fleisig and Rick Cerone, owner of the Newark Bears baseball team, will answer questions about how the economy, the stock market and the prospect of a players strike in the major leagues could affect the business of minor league baseball.

The Berkshire Black Bears, an independent Northern League team, are in their first year of operation at historic Wahconah Park in Pittsfield Massachusetts. Wahconah Park originally hosted baseball in the late 1890's and was purchased by the City of Pittsfield in 1919. Wahconah Park is one of the oldest all wooden ballparks still in use in the United States today. Fleisig is a commodities trader in New York City. He also owns a professional hockey team, the Bakersfield Condors, located in Bakersfield California.
