Black Bears Announce Front Office Changes

August 26, 2023 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Maryland Black Bears News Release

The Maryland Black Bears have had to say goodbye to our long standing Team President from 2018-2023, Robyn Remick. The first female President of a North American Junior Hockey organization; Robyn acted as the glue that held everything together behind the scenes. We are forever grateful for her duties at the helm of this program.

In the wake of her departure, the Maryland Black Bears have promoted our Director of Game Day & Business Operations, Chris Rogers, to the current Team President. Chris joined the Black Bears in August of 2021 and has been crucial in maintaining a fun and exciting environment at Piney Orchard Ice Arena as well as executing on the business side of the operation.

He comes to the Black Bears after more than a decade of wide-ranging experience with the Bowie Baysox, the 'AA' affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Rogers has brainstormed and executed numerous creative promotions, brought in thousands of fans year after year, directed youth camps, and even filled a mascot suit or two.

Rogers is a native of Northern Virginia and graduate of the College of William & Mary. He resides in Silver Spring with his wife Emily and their two small kids, Amy & Xavier. An avid Washington Capitals and San Francisco Giants fan, Rogers enjoys running in his free time.

Jess Thomas joined the Maryland Black Bears as an Intern in the summer of 2022 and spent the last season aiding with many tasks tackled by our Front Office and Gameday Staff. Jess' time with MBB has shown she's ready to take on the position of Marketing and Events Manager as we head into our 6th season as an organization!

We appreciate all of our Maryland Black Bears Fans for the continuous support throughout the years and through our recent staffing changes. Here's to a great 2023-2024 Season!
