TODAY'S GAME: Today, the Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox in the final game of a four-game series from McCoy Stadium (12:05 p.m.). The Herd is looking for the series win after back-to-back victories over the weekend. The Bisons are currently 3-2 on their six-game roadtrip that ends today. Tomorrow, the team returns to Buffalo for an eight-game homestand against the Durham Bulls and the Louisville Bats.
vs. PAWSOX: The Bisons lead the season series against Pawtucket, 4-1. Buffalo swept of a rain-shortened two-game series over the PawSox at Coca-Cola Field, April 14-15. Dating back to last season, the Bisons have now won nine of their last 13 meetings with the Red Sox.
BIG GAME BISONS: The Bisons' offense clubbed a season-high 19 base hits in yesterday's 10-3 victory. It's the most hits the Herd has had in a game since they picked up 19 hits in a 16-3 win against Richmond on July 18, 2008. On Sunday, six different Buffalo batters had multi-hit games and five drove in at least one run. OF JESUS FELICIANO had the Herd's third four-hit performance of the year as he went 4-5 with three runs scored and three RBI.
WELL SERVED: OF MIKE CERVENAK enters this afternoon's game on a 10-game hit streak. The two-time International League All-Star has averaged .286 (12-42) since the streak began on April 15. During the stretch, Cervenak has three doubles, two home runs, three RBI and five runs scored. He's the first Bisons' batter to reach 10 games with a hit streak this season.
DYNOMITE DEBUT: INF MIKE JACOBS first game as a Bison was a smashing success. Yesterday, the 29-year old doubled and singled in his first two at-bats with the team and later launched his first home run. Jacobs has 100 major league home runs to his credit, including 32 with the Marlins in 2008.
PROUD AND TRUE: OF JASON PRIDIE continued his recent hot stretch with two more hits in yesterday's win. Pridie has hit in 11 of the team's last 13 games. Six of those efforts have been multi-hit performances include four hits on April 20 against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. In the last 13 games, Pridie is averaging .364 (20-55) with two home runs and 10RBI.
METS UPDATE: The Mets (10-9) have won six of their last seven games following a rain-shortened 1-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves last night. The game was called in the top of the 6th inning. RHP MIKE PELFREY improved to 4-0 with five shutout innings of work. INF LUIS CASTILLA had two hits and two stolen bases for New York. The Mets continue their homestand tonight against the Dodgers (7:10pm).
