TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Charlotte Knights in the second game of a four-game series from Knights Stadium (7:15 p.m.). The Knights struck first in the set, winning the opener last night, 15-4. This contest is part of an eight-game roadtrip for the Herd as they will travel to Durham, July 29- August 1. On the mound tonight for the Herd is LHP David Huff. The southpaw allowed just one run in five innings on Sunday but fell in defeat to Richmond. Charlotte will send out RHP Tomo Ohka.
HUFF'S STUFF: LHP David Huff has allowed just one total run in his last two starts, but has an 0-1 record to show for his efforts. Buffalo lost both games by a 1-0 score. In fact, Huff has allowed three runs or less in seven of his nine starts with a 3.19ERA, but his record is just 2-3. The Bisons have scored just 22 runs in his nine starts (2.4 R/G). Huff's 112 total strikeouts this season (62 with Double-A Akron) are the most for any Indians minor league pitcher.
BIG GAME TODD: OF Todd Linden had a monster game last night with a double, two home runs and three RBI. He's the fifth Bison to homer twice in a game this year and the first since OF Brad Snyder knocked two out on July 2. Linden has now reached base in 16 consecutive games, hitting .365 (23-63) since July 7. Over the span the outfielder has eight doubles, two home runs, 11RBI, seven walks and 10 runs scored.
JUMPIN' GIMENEZ: C Chris Gimenez has drawn two walks in each of his last three starts and has now reached safely in six straight games. Since the All-Star break, he is hitting .381 (8-21) with five runs scored and eight walks. So far this month, the catcher is hitting .290 (18-62) with a home run and six RBI.
BISONS BITS: INF Jordan Brown has a five game hitting streak (.381, 8-21), the longest active streak for a Bisons hitter...RHP Randy Newsom's 25 saves (1 with Buffalo, 24 for Akron) lead all Indians minor leaguers.
