Buffalo Bisons News Release

TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox in the second game of a four-game series at Dunn Tire Park (7:05 p.m.). The Bisons struck first in the series last night when they scored three runs in the bottom of the 8th inning in a 6-5 victory. Tonight's game is part of an eight-game homestand with Lehigh Valley coming to Buffalo, May 17-20. On the mound tonight for the Herd will be RHP Adam Miller. The Indians' #1 prospect by Baseball America threw five shutout innings in a no-decision on Friday in Rochester. The PawSox will counter with RHP David Pauley.

STILL LOOKING: RHP Adam Miller continues to look for his first win of the season since rejoining the Herd on April 23. In three of his first four starts, Miller has held his opponent without an earned run and four hits or less. On Friday in Rochester, Miller held the Red Wings to just three hits in five innings while striking out four batters. He left that game with a lead but ended up with a fourth consecutive no-decision when the Herd won in 10 innings, 4-3.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING!: INF Josh Barfield remained red hot at the plate last night and increased his hit streak to 12 games. That's the longest stretch for a Bisons batter this season and the sixth-longest in the International League. Barfield went 1-4 last night and provided the go-ahead run on a sac fly in the bottom of the 8th inning.

CHOO-CHOO: OF Shin-Soo Choo is scheduled to begin his Major League rehab assignment with the Bisons today. Choo is recovering from "Tommy John" surgery on his left elbow on September 25 of last year. In 2007, Choo appeared in 59 games for the Bisons, hitting .294 with 3 homeruns and 26RBI.

UN-COOPED: OF Jason Cooper hit a mammoth homerun off the roof of the Heron's Landing Party Deck last night. It was Cooper's third blast of the season and 43rd of his five-year Bisons career. He has passed Tom Prince and Russ Morman into 8th place in the Modern Era with 43 blasts. Cooper now stands two homeruns shy of tying manager Torey Lovullo for seventh place. Cooper has already moved passed Lovullo with 336 games played with the Bisons (Lovullo, 221).

BISONS BITS: RHP Rick Bauer converted his ninth save of the season last night. That's tied for the second most in the IL...With 11 hits in his last 21 at-bats, INF Ryan Mulhern has raised his average 63 points in 5 games (from .187 - .250).
