Today's Game
This afternoon, the Bisons host the Louisville Bats in the second game of a three-game series from Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Bats held on for the 9-7 victory last night in the series opener, scoring six runs in the sixth inning. The Bisons are 2-3 on their current homestand than ends with tomorrow's series finale against Louisville.

The Bisons were 5-3 against the Bats last season, including a 3-1 series win in Buffalo last April. The Herd has not lost a series to Louisville at Coca-Cola Field since the Bats' four-game sweep in July of 2008. The Bisons' 244 victories over Louisville since 1988 are the most the Herd has against any club in the team's modern era.
Casey Lawrence
RHP CASEY LAWRENCE has been promoted from New Hampshire (AA) to start for the Herd today. The righty was 1-3 with a 3.75 ERA in four starts for the Fisher Cats. Lawrence won nine games at Double-A last season, finishing 3rd in the Eastern League with 151.1 innings. Lawrence made a spot start for the Bisons on April 8, 2013 against Syracuse, allowing five earned runs in four innings of work.
Roster Shuffle
The Blue Jays selected the contract of scheduled Bisons starter RHP SCOTT COPELAND and OF EZEQUIEL CARRERA. Toronto optioned LHP ANDREW ALBERS and OF DALTON POMPEY to the Bisons and designated INF ANDY WILKINS for assignment. Along with Lawrence, INF/OF RYAN SCHIMPF joins the Herd from New Hampshire (AA). Schimpf had an Eastern League-best five home runs this year to go along with a .279 average, seven doubles and 13 RBI in 20 games.
Player of the Month
The IL named INF CHRIS COLABELLO its Player-of-the-Month today for April. Colabello hit .338 and led the IL with five home runs and 16 RBI last month. He also ranked 5th in slugging pct. (.592) and 9th in on-base pct. (.427). Colabello is the first Bisons player to receive a monthly honor since INF Andy Marte in June of 2006.
Munenori Kawasaki
INF MUNENORI KAWASAKI has reached base in 14 straight games, the longest active streak in the International League. Since April 16, the infielder has hit .333 (15-45) with four doubles and seven walks.
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (11-13) lost to the Indians by a 9-4 margin on Friday. Josh Donaldson hit his sixth home run of the season in the loss. Andrew Albers was charged with one run in 2.2 innings of relief work in his Blue Jays debut. Toronto takes on Cleveland again today at 4:10 p.m.
