Today's Game

This evening, the Bisons take on the Syracuse Chiefs in the second game of their four game series (6:05 p.m.). Following Thursday morning's game, Buffalo will travel to Rochester for a 6-game series May 25-28. Buffalo will begin to make-up their previously postponed games, with two being completed in Rochester. The Herd will then return to Coca-Cola Field to host the Columbus Clippers and Charlotte Knights for a three game series each (May 29-31, June 1-3).

Last Game: BUF 8 SYR 5

The Bisons' won 8-5 on Monday night. RHP Dusty Isaacs held the Chiefs to only one hit in 2 scoreless innings. INF Jason Leblebijian hit his team leading fifth home run in the 8th inning. The Herd stole five bases, including home on a double steal in the first. INF Rowdy Tellez broke the tie in the seventh inning, hitting his second home run of the season.

Today's Starter: RHP Luis Santos

RHP Luis Santos takes the mound as a starter tonight for the first time this season. In his previous relief outings, the righty has tossed a total of 15.2IP with 15 strikeouts for a solid 1.72 ERA. Santos is looking for his second victory of the season, which would be his first as a starter in 2018.

Syracuse (5-0)

The Bisons and Chiefs will play a total of 18 times this season. Buffalo swept the first series of the season between the two teams at Coca-Cola Field. Following this series, the Herd will travel up the 90 June 29-30 and July 1 to take on the Chiefs in Syracuse.

Rowdy Tellez

1B Rowdy Tellez extended his hitting streak to five straight ballgames with a go ahead home run in the seventh inning on Monday, increasing his batting average to .264. Tellez also added 3RBI to help secure yesterdays victory. Tellez stole his third base of the season.

Jason Leblebijian

INF Jason Leblebijian hit his fifth home run of the season in the eighth inning on Monday. He still leads the Herd in long balls and runs scored. Leblebijian now leads the team in RBIs (17). The 2017 All-Star hit 11 home runs last season in 120 games played.

Tim Lopes

INF Tim Lopes hit his second triple of the season, collecting 2RBI and helping the Herd earn their fifth straight victory. Lopes stole two bases including a double steal of home in the first inning. Lopes .330 batting average ranks third in the International League, trailing Lehigh Valley's Joey Meneses (.355) and Indy's Christopher Bostick (.338).

Bisons Bits

The Bisons' pitching staff has a combined ERA of 2.89 in the month of May, second to Lehigh Valley (2.23)...Buffalo is now 15-3 when scoring 4 or more runs this season and 16-3 when outhitting its opponent...The Herd continues to lead the IL in stolen bases this season (46). Buffalo is 15-0 when leading after the eighth inning. With the win on Monday, the Bisons are now 5-0 against the Syracuse Chiefs.

Blue Jays Update

Blue Jays had a scheduled off day Monday and will host the Los Angeles Angels for a three game series starting 5/22. LHP J.A. Happ starts the opener on Tuesday against RHP Garrett Richards (7:07 p.m.). After their series with the Angels, the Blue Jays will fly to Philadelphia for a 3 game interleague series starting on Friday.
